The W-DMX™ WhiteBox series is our solution for architectural and entertainment projects that require the reliability and ease of use of W-DMX™ products, in a weatherproof IP-65 rated casing. All the function are the same as the BlackBox Series. The W-DMX™ WhiteBox contains features to ensure topnotch reliability, including Adaptive Frequency Hopping to dynamically avoid interference from other radios in the vicinity with no configuration or re-configuration over time, as the system adapts to its surroundings in real time. The units are dual band 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz units, meaning even more reliability and robustness in any environment. WhiteBox also include our advance functions from the W-DMX™ G4 of Data-Safe with automatic error correction and Invisi-Wire. Built to be installed on the exteriors of buildings, large structures, or anywhere exposed to the elements, the WhiteBox series works tirelessly day in, day out to receive your DMX, RDM and Ethernet signals around installations, be it the outside of a building, over rivers and even across buildings. With a range of IP-65 antennas available that have proven compatibility with the WhiteBox series, and our support services, we can design and ensure a complete system that functions correctly. Backward compatibility with the W-DMX™ G3 range of products mean existing installations can be expanded with ease.
The W-DMX system is a user-friendly and reliable way of receiving DMX wirelessly. Multiple transmitters and receivers can be used in close proximity as they will not interfere with each other. The standard configuration uses 512 DMX channels, however systems can be set to support up to 16 universes or 8,192 DMX channels. The W-DMX system supports both Multi-Point and Point-To-Point operation. In a multipoint system, each DMX512 device has its own receiver, which negates the need for DMX512 cable as the entire system is wireless. In a Point-To-Point situation, W-DMX is used to 'bridge' a distance. It is easy to use with a lightweight compact size and interchangeable antennas.
The technology was invented by the US Military and is used in the GSM networks as well. It uses Adaptive Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (FHSS), which changes frequency 1000 times per second and uses only channels that are not used by other W-Lan and/or other products on 2.45Ghz band. Additionally, Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) gives the user a guarantee for a much safer technology without interference.
